• Tax Breaks: Currently the property market is experiencing greater demand than supply. This imbalance, coupled with low-interest rates and tax breaks, has resulted in a 10% increase in prices in the last 12 months. On the 30th June 2021 tax breaks will begin to reduce, becoming available for houses sold at £500,000 and below. Further reductions will be made on 1 July 2020 to 250,000 until 1st October 2021 when stamp duty will return to the standard figure of £125,000.
• Extension alternatives: The short supply of houses on the market has led homeowners to look for alternative ways to satisfy their housing needs by improving their current home. If you are already in your perfect location, renovating your existing home may be a better option for you. Traditional home renovations such as, extensions are now being reconsidered in favour of cheaper and more feasible options. Detached garden outbuildings or cabins are a great way to add an extra room to your property without planning permission.
